The house is on the harbour front, in Via Assunzione. You get off the ferry and walk here on the flat, suitcases in hand.
It is an old house, with the thick walls they built back then, fully renovated a short while ago. Two rooms, two terraces, a bathroom with a window.
Both terraces look onto the harbour road. One has the big table and the parasol, and you eat outside watching the boats. The other has two deckchairs.
Downstairs you have the grocery shop, the chemist, the bars and the restaurants. The shuttle up to the village stops a few steps away.
Capraia is almost all National Park, and the coast is rock: there is no sand. Some coves you reach on foot or by kayak; the finest ones only from the sea, with a hired boat or the taxi-boat.
At the end of the harbour the Miglio Blu begins: a thousand metres of sea marked by twenty-two buoys, closed to boats. You swim there in peace, snorkel too.
For walking, Capraia is a serious island: sixteen trails leave from the village, some twenty kilometres in all. The shortest takes an hour. The one out to Lo Zenobito, the point at the far end, takes seven.
We look after the house ourselves, as a family. No reception desk and no agency: write, and a person answers.

Getting here
Capraia is reached by ferry from Livorno. It leaves from Porto Mediceo, the company is Toremar, and the crossing takes two hours and forty-five minutes. In summer, book well ahead.
Then it is easy: you step off the ferry and you have arrived.

If you live in Livorno or on Capraia you are entitled to a reduced ferry fare: ask Toremar when you buy the ticket, it is not applied on its own.

- The coast is rockThere is no sand on Capraia: you swim off the rocks. And the finest coves can only be reached from the sea, by hiring a boat or taking the taxi-boat.
- No reserved parkingThe house has no space of its own. You leave the car at the harbour or up in the village, wherever there is room.

How are the beds arranged?
The bedroom has a double and a single bed that opens out into two. The sofa bed is in the kitchen. So four of you sleep in the bedroom, and the kitchen stays a kitchen.
How far is the harbour?
It is on the harbour. The house is in Via Assunzione, the same street as the Toremar ticket office: you walk from the quay with your suitcases, no transport needed.

La Casa di Neno si trova sul lungomare del porto turistico, fra l'attracco del traghetto e i principali servizi come il minimarket, la farmacia e vari bar e ristoranti. È una costruzione molto antica, si può notare dalle mura molto spesse. L'appartamento è composto da due stanze e da un bagno finestrato, da ogni stanza si accede a una terrazza. Nella camera da letto ci sono un comodo letto matrimoniale e un letto singolo, nella stanza principale ci sono una cucina ben attrezzata, un tavolo con 6 sedie e un divano letto. Su una terrazza si trova un ampio tavolo con sedie e ombrellone, con vista sul porto turistico e molto comodo per i pasti. L'altra terrazza è dotata di due sdraio. L'arredo dell'appartamento è molto curato, con diversi bei quadri e decorazioni in tema marino. La padrona di casa è molto comunicativa e gentile e risponde velocemente ai messaggi. Vorremmo ritornare in questo bellissimo appartamento!
Che dire se non MERAVIGLIOSO!! tutto! Dalla posizione eccellente, l'accoglienza e l'ospitalità impagabili, una vacanza nella casa dei nostri sogni. Danila eccezionale Host, siamo stati accolti con un apprezzatissimo omaggio e trattati da principi, l'appartamento è vicino a qualsiasi servizio ma non per questo in mezzo al chaos, volevamo una vacanza di relax e ci siamo sentiti coccolati...
